We started Choco Rush to make it convenient for you to get access to great chocolate. When we launched in 2015, we started with a chocolate subscription service, making it easier for you to discover new chocolate makers. In 2016 we launched our online store where you can shop for a wide selection of premium chocolate, in one place. In 24 months, and thousands of bars shipped, we’ve learned and grown so much that we wanted a name that reflects who we are, and where we want to go.
Over the next few weeks we’ll transition to our new name Bar & Cocoa. This starts with our club box packaging and orders. We’ll continue to bring you carefully selected chocolate from the best makers every month. And we’ll soon expand our offerings beyond bars as we work with new makers across the globe. Our goal has always been, and will continue to be to showcase the best bean to bar, and craft chocolate.
At Bar & Cocoa, we want to help people re-discover chocolate — real chocolate. We’re also on a quest to improve on sustainability and build a bar-to-you chain that’s easy on the planet. We’ve retained our simple packaging. We strive to be eco-friendly and eliminate waste where possible. Our box stickers are 100% biodegradable. Tasting notes for our club box will continue to be emailed to you. (Less paper, and easier to search!) And we refuse to use styrofoam, even if it comes at the cost of some occasionally melted chocolate. (Not that we want that. We are pursuing eco friendly thermal packaging, and it will become more realistic as we scale.)
Our new name, Bar & Cocoa still reflects our goals to showcase truly good chocolate and make it accessible to everyone. And our broader vision, to help turn chocolate into a force for change in the cocoa industry. While this may seem ambitious, this is our heartfelt desire.
